Home!

We are all home, and although we returned a little late (4:30 PM) it is wonderful to be here. We never received a diagnosis for Loki, but I never heard of the results of the virus test. I still suspect a respiratory virus. We hope that he sleeps well tonight.

I will add, though, that Loki is now on eight drugs daily! Zantac (ranitidine) and Prevacid (Lansoprazole) for reflux; Flovent (fluticasone, a steroid), Xopenex (Levalbuterol), and Prednisolone (another steroid) for his breathing; Augmentin (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid, antibiotics) for his ear and g-tube site infections;  bacitracin ointment for his g-tube site infection; and a vitamin. About half of these should be stopped in the next week or three.

Thanks for all your words of support during this latest medical incident!

Lieve Loki, Welcome home! You know, I know why you are so cute, handsome and intelligent......thats because you have the most lovely and intelligent parents, I'm sure about that.
A second thing, mom told me you are gonnan live very close to us! Wow, that will be fun! I can take you to the Leemkuil en the Wylerbergmeer en de Bisonbaai, all by bike. We can visit oma H en opa F and.... I can take you by train to opa R en oma A! Maybe all of this will not take place in the first week you live so close but well, we can take two years for it. I can't wait to see you and play the hand game.
Dear mom and dad, Next year we will arange the Lokisitting on your weddingday, so you can go out or sleep, or whatever you want.

I spoke to uncle Martin on the phone, he is somewhere high on top of a mountain. He told me lots of beautifull energy is going to Oakland at the moment, he saw it himself:-)
Very big hug, tante Marieke XXX

Lieve ver-weg-familie!
Ik verheug me erop.
Een goed weekend en groet vanuit een super zonnig en warm Leiden.

I was delighted to read that Loki had returned home once again with his wonderful parents. Happy and healthy prayers and wishes from the East Coast. Warmest Regards, Foxen's Nana Holly.

About Loki Sky

Loki Sky is a special little man. He was a very early micropreemie, weighing only 610 grams (1 lb, 5 oz) after 24 weeks, 3 days gestation, born to an American Father and a Dutch Mother in Berkeley, California on October 18, 2008.

On January 11, 2009, while still in the hospital NICU, his one kidney stopped working. It was repaired after three surgeries. After spending time in three hospitals in three cities, Loki came home on February 17. He struggled with eating, and then stopped in July, leading to 8 days in the hospital, a failure-to-thrive diagnosis, and a NG feeding tube. On October 10, a minor surgery installed a G feeding tube. Another procedure replaced it with a new one, and then again with a Mic-Key button in Jan. 2010.

In August 2010, he and his parents moved to the Netherlands.
