Day 83: Photo

One of our very favorites (Danielle):

Loki is just getting bigger and bigger.

The past few days have been a little more challenging because of the breastfeeding, or lack thereoff. Fortunately Danielle has been very supportive and helpful, thank so much!!

I will explain a little later why breastfeeding is so important to me, but have to run now to practice.......

I remember meeting Danielle and Margaret both when I visited last, and you're lucky to have such caring people on Loki's team. He's looking good! -JM

Please tell Danielle hello from Nana. I see in the background of the picture that "little" Loki is off the chart with his weight. Great to see that!!! Tell all the nurses hello and give Loki a hug for me.
love and kisses.....nana

Lieve mama,
Succes!! X Maaike

We're glad to see that Loki is doing so well. He is almost bigger than Alexandra! Being home is scary but rewarding & we hope that you & your family will be able to cuddle up on your couch soon. Tell everyone we say "hi":)

Hi Loki, Mom and Dad. We're looking forward to go iceskating with the little big guy when he has grown some more. That must be fun, fun fun. Love you all, oma en opa.

About Loki Sky

Loki Sky is a special little man. He was a very early micropreemie, weighing only 610 grams (1 lb, 5 oz) after 24 weeks, 3 days gestation, born to an American Father and a Dutch Mother in Berkeley, California on October 18, 2008.

On January 11, 2009, while still in the hospital NICU, his one kidney stopped working. It was repaired after three surgeries. After spending time in three hospitals in three cities, Loki came home on February 17. He struggled with eating, and then stopped in July, leading to 8 days in the hospital, a failure-to-thrive diagnosis, and a NG feeding tube. On October 10, a minor surgery installed a G feeding tube. Another procedure replaced it with a new one, and then again with a Mic-Key button in Jan. 2010.

In August 2010, he and his parents moved to the Netherlands.
