I'm loving that little burrito wrap. Makes Loki look like a little buddha almost - heck, with all he's been through he's probably wise enough to be a little buddha! My friend's baby wouldn't go to sleep until well over 6 months old if she wasn't tightly wrapped like that. Once again, amazingly beautiful pictures. Hope the feeding goes better soon! Can you try 24 cal. Neosure instead or is it better to do 27Cal but less often?

Tough times. I know the feeling that feeding is taking more time than you hoped for. Especially when you also have to pump. Broken nights, not enough sleep, it's difficult. So let nana do her job of taking good care of you!
Is Kyra still around? It must have been nice for mom to see a good friend. Did she tell you about the baby-shower thing that we did in NL?
Rustig aan!

Dear family,
Every day I am reading about the progress and it really makes me very happy to know that you are all doing such a great job. You should get a medal for it but I think that Loki himself is the best reward you can have. Wish you a lot of energy, happy times together and more than enough sleep to let you survive. Lots of love, Inge van der Heijden.

LOVE the pictures.

Good luck with the feedings. It sure does take a toll on you and a lot of patience. But you will get through this, too.

This makes me so happy! And all your previous messages too! I hope your enjoyment (Good English?) has won over your fears. And I wish there will be few difficulties. It must be so much more relaxed being in your own house, with cozy lights and surrounding! I wish you will be able to rest enough and find a good rythm taking care of your little man.

Much love and many warm hugs,
Suzanna

I didn't read the message after the first messages yet when I wrote the comment above. I meant that it makes me happy that Loki is at home finally! And I didn't read the message about feeding. That must be a lot of work. Breastfeeding alone already takes a lot of time! And mom must pump first and then feed. I really wish the supplement can be left out soon and that mom will be able to feed him live soon. and I wish Loki will grow so fast that soon he won't need a night feeding anymore and that his rythm will be similar to yours! We were lucky with Phileine, she was so sleepy at night and soon she was heavy enough to stop waking her up at night. Hopefully Loki will be very easygoing after all the trouble he made :-)

Much luck and joy,
Suzanna

About Loki Sky

Loki Sky is a special little man. He was a very early micropreemie, weighing only 610 grams (1 lb, 5 oz) after 24 weeks, 3 days gestation, born to an American Father and a Dutch Mother in Berkeley, California on October 18, 2008.

On January 11, 2009, while still in the hospital NICU, his one kidney stopped working. It was repaired after three surgeries. After spending time in three hospitals in three cities, Loki came home on February 17. He struggled with eating, and then stopped in July, leading to 8 days in the hospital, a failure-to-thrive diagnosis, and a NG feeding tube. On October 10, a minor surgery installed a G feeding tube. Another procedure replaced it with a new one, and then again with a Mic-Key button in Jan. 2010.

In August 2010, he and his parents moved to the Netherlands.
